Been hard at work on a passive solar sunspace to start the farm seedlings. Oriented to the South and protected from the Northwest winds, the space has a gravel floor and several 50 gallon water barrels to collect daytime heat and release at night and includes a wall of doubled paneled windows repurposed from the Clayton Habitat for Humanity Store to maximize sunlight. We held a small Blessing Ceremony on February 2 - in the midst of a snow storm! Ha - Mother Nature has a sense of humor :)
Hi. My name is Terri and I am the farmer at Ladybug Farms. I split my time between Cabbagetown and my farm in NE Georgia. I "did time" in the corporate world (13 years), left that to spend 8 years doing something I loved - garden design/installation - and then 9 years ago decided to do something I was passionate about - building community around nutritious, local food and the survival of small, family farms. For the last 9 years I have offered weekly produce delivery through a small CSA in Clayton and Cabbagetown, at farmers markets in Clayton, and several restaurants including Fromage. Please check back periodically as things continue to grow at Ladybug Farms. Thanks for visiting.
