FINALLY, those giant clusters of green tomatoes are beginning to turn red, purple, yellow and pink !  In tomorrow’s share will be both heirlooms as well as a rainbow pint of cherry tomatoes.  I spent a few hours yesterday wrestling with the staking and trellising of the tomato plants in the rear high-tunnel that are literally 10 feet tall.  I bought 10 foot metal conduit to see if that works – Ridiculous!  I’m calling this the Magic Tomato House – it reminds both Ron and me of the ride at Epcot – The Future of Food!

Super cute pic of Garden Pixie Joyce who is, as always, a tremendous help at the farm!  She made a beeline for the sunflowers blooming in the center of the spring field for her flower this week.

Farm Food Favorite: Sauteed Pattypans with Tomato Sauce!
Slice into strips and sautee with garlic and olive oil.  In a separate pan cook tomatoes, garlic and basil and add sauce to top of pattypans.  A customer at market last Saturday said she loves to grill pattypans – again slice into strips and brush will olive oil and herbs.  Enjoy!

I will see you all tomorrow at the CSA pickup from 10-12 at Fromage.  Please bring a bag for your goodies.

Until next week…
