So I think it is safe to say that Summer has arrived!  For this farmer that means I can no longer work outside in the middle of the day!  Gives me an even greater appreciation for those hardworking folks that work at the mega farms to grow much of the food we find in the grocery stores.  All of the garlic has finally been dug and these warm, dry temps will certainly help the garlic to cure.  Picture this week is of the Turmeric in the field.  I also planted in the high tunnel so will be interesting to see which does better.  Is 100% from my saved root stock so that feels really good to see all those sprouting plants!

Farm Food Favorite: Squash Casserole – Comfort FoodJ
(Recipe from my brother, Jeff - think of this as mac and cheese with squash instead)
Saute 3-4 pattypans and chopped up onion in 2 tbsp butter.  In mixing bowl combine 2 eggs,1 cup milk, ½ cup (or more shredded cheese (I used cheddar). Add squash mixture to liquid, mix together and add salt, pepper.  Top with crunched up Ritz crackers.  Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.  Enjoy!

I will see you all tomorrow at the CSA pickup from 10-12 at Fromage.  Please bring a bag for your goodies.

Until next week…
